STEAM with Lisa Shepherd The Mouse and the Motorcycle Ages 6+ Jan. 20-Mar.10 (8 week class) Mondays 9:30-11am Springboard into STEAM with the award winning literature of Beverly Cleary’s The Mouse and the Motorcycle. Using creativity, physics and an engineering mindset, re-think and re-use on a mouse level, and create a mouse house and car. Jump into Art Studios is excited to be adding STEAM options to our expanding child workshop collection. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. In STEAM- tagged workshops, children will have opportunities that use and combine art with other learning subjects for engaging, creative and problem-solving experiences. Creating is the most powerful learning tool. Come join us for Art sprinkled with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Lisa Shepherd has over 35 years of teaching and art experience. She views herself as a life-long learner and sees art in everything. Lisa has a degree in art, a Multiple-Subject Elementary Teaching Credential, an Art Teaching Credential and a Masters in Effective Instruction. During her years in the public school system, she was recognized and awarded three times as Teacher of the Year. Lisa’s passion is using art to connect learning and plans to use her experiences in engineering focused learning to offer STEAM-based and growth mind set learning opportunities.
